Masons Moving Group Supports Welsh Veterans: Supplying Truck and Manpower to Woody’s Lodge Charity Event

At Masons Moving Group, we’re passionate about supporting our community, Welsh charities and local charity events. For the past 5 years, we’ve had the pleasure of working closely with Woody’s Lodge, a wonderful Welsh veterans’ charity. In addition to making donations, we’ve also helped organise and participate in fundraising events to support their vital work. We’re thrilled to continue our partnership by providing one of our 12-ton trucks for their biggest fundraising event yet, Woody’s Lodge Normandy Battlefield Tours 2023, which will take place from 11th to 15th July 2023. We’re excited to be part of this important charity event and proud to support such a worthy cause!

It’s going to be a spectacular 5-day cycle through the historical region of Normandy in Northern France, tracing the footsteps of the heroes in the D-Day Landings and Battle of Normandy. Joining the riders and supporters will be our skilled HGV driver, Justin Enticknap, who will be an integral part of the Woody’s Lodge support team.

Pedalling for a purpose

We’re also excited to share that we’re sponsoring family member and the Director of our marketing agency, ONCREE Sarah Mason. It’s a privilege to have her supporting this important cause and pedalling for a purpose.

A long-standing commitment to the veteran community

At Masons Moving Group, we have a long-standing commitment to the veteran community and Welsh charities like Woody’s Lodge. Our founder, Eric Mason, served in the Royal Air Force (RAF), and his dedication to supporting the military has shaped our company’s values. As a veteran himself, Eric devoted a considerable part of his life to aiding the RAF with personnel relocations in the UK and Europe. 

Along with his wife, Esme Mason, they dedicated their lives to running Masons Removals, working tirelessly to provide exceptional service to all their customers, including those who served Wales. Read more about Esme Mason here. 

Continued support for Woody’s Lodge

This special bond with the veteran community has made Woody’s Lodge and similar Welsh charities a cherished cause within the Masons group. For the past 5 years, we’ve provided unwavering support to this outstanding Welsh veterans’ charity, fuelled by our shared bond with Eric Mason and his RAF background. To this day, we remain connected to the military community through our Bishops Move franchise. 

It’s an honour to be able to contribute to meaningful local charity events like this and continue our legacy of serving military personnel.

Justin Enticknap: Going above & beyond

Justin will not only be responsible for driving the truck but will also provide assistance with various logistics tasks. He will be involved in loading and unloading bags and bikes, supporting the riders during refreshment stops, helping with shopping for supplies, and assisting the catering team during lunch breaks. The final evening is closing off with a well-deserved barbecue, and Justin will help set up the barbecues for the catering team.

A tribute to Eric & Esme Mason

Alongside Justin, Sarah is proudly representing the Masons name as she embarks on this remarkable 165-mile cycle challenge, paying tribute to Eric and Esme Mason. As the Director of ONCREE Digital, Sarah has been generously offering her expertise to Woody’s Lodge on a pro bono basis. Now, she is determined to not only raise funds but also awareness for this deserving charity. Together, Justin and Sarah are shining examples of the Masons Moving Group’s unwavering support for local charity events that make a difference.
