Turning 50 in New York City
We’ve already featured Diane in a previous article that you can find here. But this time around we want to share some exciting news with you and celebrate a milestone in Diane’s life. On December 11th, she celebrated her 50th birthday in a destination she always dreamt of exploring, the iconic city of New York!
Diane’s Fibromyalgia diagnosis
At the young age of 25, Diane was confronted with a life-altering Fibromyalgia diagnosis, a condition characterised by intense musculoskeletal pain throughout the body. This disorder is often accompanied by fatigue, sleep disturbances, memory issues, and mood challenges. Regrettably, there’s no cure for fibromyalgia, and living with it is an ongoing challenge.
Two decades of living with Fibromyalgia
Diane understands the challenges of living with fibromyalgia all too well, having struggled with it for over 2 decades. Despite this hurdle, she has continuously given her best to our customers for an impressive 10 years.
Raising a glass to reach dreams
On December 9th, Diane soared towards the vibrant streets of New York, hand in hand with her doting husband, Anthony O’Brien (AKA O’B), a fellow team member at Masons Moving Group who recently earned his HGV licence. Despite the persistent challenges of living with Fibromyalgia, Diane never stopped dreaming about this trip. We share in her excitement, although there’s a bittersweet note as we missed her during our Christmas party on the very day she embarked on this extraordinary journey. Nevertheless, we raised a glass in her honour, celebrating not just the holiday season but also Diane checking off a goal from her bucket list as we bid farewell to the year.
Resilient, strong, & resolute despite fibromyalgia
In celebrating this milestone birthday, Diane and her husband’s thrilling adventure includes highlights such as experiencing ice skating at the Rockefeller Center. Diane openly shares that living with Fibromyalgia is a daily battle, one that remains invisible to most but is undeniably real. However, this formidable challenge doesn’t deter her from savouring every moment in the Big Apple, even though she’s prepared for difficult times. Diane is a resilient warrior, standing strong and resolute, refusing to let Fibromyalgia stand in the way of her dreams.
The Magic of Christmas
Picture this: the crisp winter air, the Rockefeller Center ablaze with lights, and the iconic Christmas Tree casting a magical glow over The Rink. This is the enchanting stage where Diane will be ice skating, immersed in the festive wonderland. She most looks forward to this experience but she is also excited to explore New York and its famous landmarks, immortalised in TV shows and movies.
